Repair kit for DELTA DPS-171CP A / RUNTKA935WJQZ / DPS-162KP-1 power supply standby and PFC tracks - no standby, no PFC / no 12V issue

Coppell TV Repair LLC is offering a repair kit for two common failures we've seen develop in DELTA power supply boards based on DPS-162KP-1 PCB (printed on board itself); this includes, but is not imited to DPS-171CP A model (found on a sticker at top of board).

The two boards we've seen that are based on this PCB are DPS-162KP and DPS-171CP A (aka RUNTKA935WJQZ ).

RUNTKA935WJQZ is used in the following Sharp LCD TV models:

  • Sharp LC-70C7450U
  • Sharp LC-70C8470U
  • Sharp LC-70LE847U
  • Sharp LC-70LE745U
  • Sharp LC-70LE845


Failure symptoms

A faiure in standby circuit is manifested by totally dead TV, missing +5V standby on the power supply board; resistor R7900 (bttom left of board, above the large transformer) possibly open, diode D7950 (middle bottom of board, to the right of R7900) possibly shorted. In some cases the main fuse may also be blown open.

A failue in PFC circuit may also cause main fuse to blow open, but when it isn't then the TV would give two short and two fast blinks upon trying to power on; there will be no +390V at any moment at C7800A and C7800B and often times transistor 7801 would be visibly burned.

Kit contents

Replacement components for IC7903, R7900 and D7950 in standby circuit and Q7801, IC7801 and R7811 in PFC circuit; also F7001 which may or may not be damaged (blown open) by a failure in either circuit; and D7805, which may fail independently or as part of the PFC failure.

More components may be included over time if we see others that may be occasionally failing.

All components in the kit are brand new. They may be slightly differnt from the ones on the board, but they are guaranteed functional replacements or improvements over the OEM parts.

Difficulty level

Easy to medium. Generic soldering equipment should allow doing the job.

Patience and attention are always recommended.

Improper handling may cause additional damage. If you are not certain you can undertake the service consider using our repair services instead.

When shipping option for the order is "Free shipping" we will usually utilize cheapest available method.

    Yet failure can be unique and there can not be guarantee that what has worked one, ten or even hundred times will also work the next one.

    Just as important, every repair involves about equal portion of quality of parts and quality of worksmanship and as we have no control over the worksmanship quality unless we are the ones performing it we would be unwise to provide warranty of the products utilized by that worksmanship.

    As such, no warranty is offered on this product once the components in it are soldered on a board.
